shepard and dog
Visited on a warm spring night. Received a warm welcome but that's as far as the it went. The bar furnishings were very shabby, maximum of only eight customers total in the bar and restaurant throughout the whole saturday night. There was no atmosphere whatsoever. Steak and 4 potatoes with no vegetables x 2 came to £33+ We will not be going back.
very poor
Went there last week-£120 for four. Very expensive for just mains and one desert. Wine £17+ very pricy. Only us eating so all in all a disaster. Much better deals available and lots of them so sorry we are unable to recommend and will be a long time we return.
Nice food, Bad Service
I wouldn't recommend this place, First of all it seemed a very nice place, We received our drinks and ordered and it seemed a very nice place, We all received our food except my 6 year old niece who we later found out the chefs had forgot to cook her dish, The manager came over to speak to us had quite an aggressive attitude and the food only got to her after all of us had finished our meal! None of the staff came to us to explain what had happened while we were waiting and we were very cross about the whole situation. The deserts however were very nice but again they gave my 6 year old niece vanilla instead of chocolate, Another example that they need to sort out their staff as they seem to need more training, However the quickly recovered the problem and we got a free dessert and meal for my niece. However the overall service was appalling and we shall not be returning, It is a shame as the food is nice but the service has let the restaurant down.

I wouldn't recommend this place, it is very much an acquired taste. Have given it a few chances over the years and they never seem to be able to get the food right. The service and waitresses were excellent but this wasn't matched by what was being served. Starters were pretty non eventful and the mains very average. As for desserts, nothing home made, all out of a packet.
so bad it was funny!
We waited for 45 minutes to actually get our roast Sunday dinner. In between ordering and getting our meal we were asked if we had ordered coffee and whether we wanted our desserts now! Front of house was a bit of a shambles - very well meaning but it really isn't the customers problem that you're short staffed! The beef required a strong set of teeth and a sharper knife than was provided. However the veg was all ok. Would pop in for a beer but wouldnt eat in there again.
