Bacchus is under investigation after three big groups of customers became seriously ill after eating here recently.Two needed hospital attention.
It is so serious that it has been taken to the next level. The owners have tried to hush this up but its too important as a lady in her 80's and an 8 yr old girl were evidently involved. Somebody could've died.
Find out what the situation is before you go.

Visited on Sat 6th Aug to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Lovely ambience, perfect service and excellent food. Loved everything from the home baked bread, perfectly cooked fillet steak, best creme brulee ever tasted.
Will be going back next month to celebrate birthday. If you want a lovely, quirky dining expereince. Bacchus wins. Thanky ou for another lovely evening.

I took my mother to this place as it had had such good reviews over the last years and we were so upst at the standards of the food and service we had to leave and eat elsewhere. Where was the management? Poor service and bland food. Shame.

The first time i went to San Fairie Ann it was a pleasant surprise and a wonderful discovery. I thought at that time it was the best restaurant not only in Southend but possible in all of Essex. However, subsequent visits have not been to the same standard and I'm afraid the food but in particular the service has dropped dramatically. I am especially disappointed that the last three visits the same menu has been offered to me and quite frankly this is tired. I won't be going again in a hurry as on the last occasion I was short changed by the waiter who I found to be very push and a bit too personal. This is a shame as the young waiter who served us the first time we went there was first class as was the food.

I love everything about San Fairie Ann, the food is fantastic and the menu is always different and gives you a chance to try something new.
The service is great and the waiters will recommend wines and food and nothing is too much trouble. There is always service with a smile.
I would definately recommend this restuarant for any occasion.
