I'm so sorry that this lovely couple, who were working hard to provide excellent meals and service have closed this business. I have no idea why, but maybe it's down to people like the previous writer who love to complain and don't hesitate to put reviews like that online. Or maybe it was written by local opposition. Who knows? I do hope there was a good and positive reason for the closure.

Interestingly, the good review I wrote is still not showing, even though I wrote it 2 days ago.

Good luck to the Hoods.

It looked excellent and everything about the meal and service was extremely good. But that was a while ago. I'm looking forward to going again tomorrow and will write another review after that.

I had rung to book on the morning and they said they could accomodate us at 3pm. We arrived at the appointed time and were asked to wait for a table and ended up waiting 20 minutes.

The server came to take our order and then the waiting really began! After nearly a half an hour our starters came and the food was good. However, we waited and waited again for our main course.

No one came to offer an explaination as to why it was taking some time and when I asked to speak to the manager I was shocked at his attitude.

He informed me that all meals were cooked to order and that if I wanted to go somewhere where the meals were microwaved the service would indeed be quicker.

The food (Sunday lunch remember, not generally cooked to order) when it came was disappointing for the price. The beef was fatty and I got more grissle on my plate than beef. I wonder whether is is because I complained? Either way the experience was spoiled by the rudeness of the manager and hence I vowed never return back there.

Such a shame as I would have liked to be able to support my local restaurant in these difficult enonomic times!
