The menu is very good with good examples of Italian food (not just Pizza and pasta - but they obviously have these as well). The Food is excellent especially the fresh seafood - which is a change as many of the local Italians (such as Prezzos, Tuttis etc) are chain establishments where most of the food is simplistic and kept in the freezer. It was good to find a restaurant that knows quality ingredients and how to cook them well. La Piazza is located on Rayne Road (so is fairly central in Braintree Town) - Ample parking is available at the local supermarket. There is a small bar at the entrance - which goes up stairs to 3 rooms - It is a beautiful building with old beams and stonework. The food was exceptional and the wine list contained most of the popular Italian Classics with a few special vintages. Overall you will not find it hard to get something to compliment your food selection. The food is amazing, with friendly efficient service. Very popular in the evenings. It is a family run restaurant, the owner/ chef cooks everything fresh to order, evening going up to London to buy fresh fish from Billinsgate.
