Although the restaurant was pleasent the pub attached to the side of it was awful. The service was ok (but as we were the only people in there you would expect that)but the food was absolutely terrible. I had lasagne; it was very greasy and collapsed into a mess as soon as I cut into it. My boyfriend had the steak pudding which actually turned out to be a pie that tasted on par with something you would buy in a supermarket. We had Sunday lunch on 3rd May, the food was superb and certainly terrific value for money. The service was friendly and attentive. We have booked for a big birthday party and are already lookibng forward to that. There were 20 of us the food was excellent and one of the party has coeliac disease and the staff were very helpful an the chef produced a meal my uncle enjoyed very much. The apmosphere was superb with a party going on another table. The staff were very friendly and asked us if we enjoyed our food on two occassions.
It was great value for money and I would highly recommend it to all my friends. When I paid for my bill at the table, there was not a thank you, she just put the slip on the table and walked off, as a result of this I did not leave at tip. When we left, not one person asked how we enjoyed our evening or a thank you. On the plus side the food was very nice and we were asked if we were enjoying it whilst eating it.
