The greeting is always pleasant, the decor is cosy, warm and inviting, the many meals I have eaten here have all been very satisfactory. As I consider what I should write, an old saying "never judge a book by it's cover" comes to mind. Everything started off well, the menu looked promising, the wine list adequate, the decor uninspiring (and a bit scruffy) but tolerable ..... but then came the food. My calamari starter was overcooked, rubbery and so completely lacking in flavour that not even a hint of it's fishy origin remained and my main course of Veal Millanese was mere seconds away from drowning in it's accompanying bath of oil. I missed the pudding course as I was running out of the will to live by then and had to leave. If ever an establishment needed of a good sharp injection of Gordon Ramsay this is it.
