I went with a friend who said he had eaten at Wildwood once before but couldn't remember what it was like. That should have been a warning sign but I was too hungry to take note.
I ordered the house red which tasted (and looked) like it had been watered down. We skipped starters and I had the spaghetti bolognese, which is a pretty simple dish, by anyone's standards.
I knew it was bolognese because it looked like bolognese, but it was so tasteless that it could have been anything. Even the sprinkling of parmesan from the moody blonde waitress didn't bring it back to life. The only reason I ate it was because I was hungry and it was inoffensive.
My friend had the duck pizza and said: "Yeah, it's okay".
If you like 'okay' food, this is the restaurant for you. If you want better tasting food but within a similar price range, I'd recommend Zizzi - or Giraffe, which was a surprise hit.
