As I walked in the door I was most impressed with the decor, but when seated I was most disappointed from then on. The menu just didn't grab me.I ordered a starter and main course, which lacked flavour. The chicken satay starter was very dry & chewy. The service was mixed: one waiter was very helpful, the other was surly. Overall, a well presented restaurant, but lacking in service and quality of food. Won't be coming back.

My wife and I and a group of friends visited 210bc recently and for starters we all decided to go for the combo platter to share. This consisted of the usual mix of nibbles such as spare ribs, sesame prawn toast, tempura style vegetables and squid. My wife and I knew what to expect with a Chinese starter like this, as it can be a bit on the fried and fatty side, so when ordering we decided for our mains we would both have a fish dish, thinking that this would be lighter and fresher. We decided to go for one of the Monk fish dishes on offer; I went for the - as described ‘wok seared Monk fish in yellow bean sauce’ and she chose the Monk fish cooked in champagne and honey. On the starter combo the vegetables and rubbery squid were covered in a soft, thick batter, the toast was a thick slice of deep fried baguette with a prawn in it and the spare ribs, although tasty, were rather fatty. Not a great starter we thought, but when our Monk fish dishes came up, what a disappointment! Mine was sort of Monk fish goujons in yet more deep fried batter and topped with a rather salty, rich yellow bean sauce. After the first piece, I just thought yuk and I had to just try and pick out the small amount of fish from the remaining batter parcels. My wife’s was just the Monk fish in thick chunks, but it oddly tasted of a sort of cheesy flavour, with a hint of a white wine after taste - presumably the champagne coming through. But where were the flavours of the honey? Nothing there. For an accompaniment, I ordered some noodles and this tasted like your average fried up, greasy take-way effort. One of our friends had the scallops main dish, again these were rubbery and tasted fried and fatty. Another accompaniment we had was a vegetables and mushrooms dish. This too was fried and greasy. The actual restaurant itself and the service were all fine, but overall the quality of the food we had and the cooking was really disappointing and pricey for what it is. We left 210bc both feeling rather queasy and to top it all my wife was actually sick later on.

We are by no means foody snobs but maybe our recent vist to Thailand and our love of Thai food spoiled it for us. The restaurant (a bland, squarish, modern affair which looked more like a classroom than a restaurant) was pretty full and we had to book so obviously things are going quite well.
As usual with me I picked out everything that said 'hot' (i.e. two chilis next to the dish). May be it was because we ordered Thai in a Chinese restaurant but the Tom Yum soup was just salty and not (chili) hot or sweet or sour. Possibly made with a paste, of which I have a jar at home, with no additional flavour added. My wife's Thai beef salad was an odd mix of tough beef , sticky sauce and sweet papaya, not what we were expecting. I would then go as far to say that my 'very hot' main course 'seared chickem in a thai sauce' was just some bland looking cubed chicken in gravy, not a hint of chili. I even went as far as to complain which is unheard of for me.It was met with a response something like 'it may say hot but its not cos we don't think you can handle it'. It went back to the kitchen where a half hearted attempt to spice it up with some dried chilis pretty much made no difference.
£70 for two, which I will pay for quality but not very poor bland chinese food, not as good as our local takeaway but 3 times as expensive.
Another disppointing local meal.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good, our starter of salt and pepper quid and jasmine tea ribs was fabulous. Mains were also good, the Kung Po Chicken had a good kick to it. Would go back.
