Chelmsford now has a fresh and exciting addition to the dining scene, brand new to The Meadows comes Giraffe, the restaurant with a whole lot of heart.

Set on the pedestrianised area overlooking the River Chelmer, Giraffe is the perfect all day dining destination. Pop in for coffee, meet with friends over a casual brunch, take a break from shopping at lunchtime or relax with cocktails over a leisurely dinner.

Food
Start the day with French brioche with apple compote, yoghurt, strawberries and maple syrup or spice up the morning with a quesadilla of scrambled eggs, cheese, bacon and salsa. Go west for lunch with a rodeo chicken burger with melted cheddar, mushrooms and barbeque sauce or head east for dinner with the hot Thai duck stir fry with bok choy, Thai basil, noodles and chilli jam.

Indulge in heavenly desserts including banana waffle split with roasted banana, vanilla ice cream, chocolate and butterscotch sauce or the Rocky Road sundae with chunky chocolate and vanilla ice cream, marshmallows, chocolate brownies and chocolate sauce.

Drinks
Cocktails make their mark with a combination of old school classics such as a retro piña colada and more contemporary innovations including cucumber breeze – Bombay Sapphire gin, fresh cucumber, mint and fresh apple juice.

Something for the kids
Little ones are loved just as much as grown ups and have their very own menu complete with puzzles and games to keep them entertained. Sit back and relax as they tuck into a host of healthy, fresh dishes such as cottage pie with broccoli; grilled chicken burger or a mini brunch with sausage, eggs, Heinz beans and toast.

Design
The interior at Giraffe is a fusion between old and new, there is a rugged and industrial feel with raw concrete and subway tiling surrounding the open kitchen and timber table tops. Traditional touches such as the supersize red Chesterfield sofas, oak herringbone parquet flooring and sumptuous leather upholstery complete the look.

Great offers
There are plenty of great deals on offer too, during weekdays you can take advantage of the express lunch with main courses for just £6.95 (11am-4pm), the Feel Good menu is available every night from 5pm and offers two courses for just £9.95. For after work drinks take advantage of Bar Buddies with 50% off selected beers, cocktails and wines.
