Not too Sure
Last time I went here there was a 4x4 in the front door
Fantastic carvery Sunday lunch
Arrived at 1.00 on a sunny Sunday. Had quite a queue to get to the carvery. Worth the wait! 5 different types of meat, two types of potato, cauliflower cheese, roast parsnips, swede, french beans, peas and carrots. Huge plateful...all delicious. Will definitely go again. Carver also gave us some scraps for our dogs.
Intimate meal
The staff were very welcoming and the pre-dinner drinks were reasonably priced. We had booked a table for four in the 'intimate dining room'. The menu listed meals under various headings including steaks and homemade.
We need not have booked we were the only people in the dining area. Two of the group chose steak & kidney pie, one sirloin steak and the other salmon. After taking the order the waitress came back to say that there were no steak & kidney pies. Another steak and a cottage pie were ordered. All the wines on the list were reasonably priced.
The steak was passable although one was tough but the accompaniments, chips, onion rings and mushrooms were all cooked from frozen except the tomato. The salmon was overcooked but served with fresh vegetables, as was the cottage pie.
If you want a cheap and cheerful meal this may be for you and I would suggest you select from the homemade menu.
St George's Day
All our family had such a great day. The Hog Roast was brilliant and great value, we also won a raffle prize.
The beer was cheap and tasted really good
The Chequers
What a great night had. It was a Saturday night, we had a carvery which is amazing, then moved to the bar area for some drinks. The Live act was brilliant
