Visited here while on a walk and had some lunch and those with us had some ale - the best they had tasted apparently.
I had a hot drink and companions had wine - again a lovely drink and all very reasonably priced, especially for a country pub.
The landlord was extremely welcoming as was the fire, and explained all the history of the village when we asked - even had photos to show us. A wonderful couple of hours well spent.
The food was bar food and home made and absolutely lovely.
Well worth a visit if passing by.

On reading the previous review I felt I had to add my comments as I was very surprised by the remarks.
The Onley Arms is a village community pub and does not pretend to be anything else.
The ales are always excellent as is the welcome we receive on every visit and the log fire in the Winter is lovely.
This is not a food pub but does offer some places to eat with basic bar food on offer - and some home-made specials.
I have sampled the home made cottage pie which is gorgeous as arehe omellettes - always large portions and very reasonably priced.
Both the landlord and landlady are always polite and show an interest in their customers.
They offer live music and other entertainment and I do feel that this website is misleading. Should you be looking to dine a la carte this is not the place, but if you are looking for a warm welcome to feel part of the atmosphere with excellent drinks on offer and snacks to eat then this is the place. They also allow dogs on leads in the pub and children are welcome also.
If you are visiting nearby please give it a try - it will be worth it!
