I visited the Ivory Rooms on a Thursday Evening having been recommended to take advantage of the 4321 offer. This offer is basically 3 courses plus a bottle of wine for just £40. We usually go to Prezos or Strada in the High Street and spend between £55 & £65 for 2 people every Thursday so was not expecting much from The Ivory Rooms, however we were very surprised 3 courses from the a la carte menu and a bottle of wine plus 1 pint of lager was only £43. The food was amazing, the ambience with the pianist was perfect. If there was a complaint the service was not amazing as we had to wait a long time for our deserts. I would definately recommend anybody going on a Thursday evening.

I have never had the food here (so ignore the one star it has received), but I have been for a few nights out here. The time before last that I went here, I had a very enjoyable night but my latest experience of The Ivory Rooms has stripped any praise I had for the place. I visited on a Saturday night, and I expected it to be the same nice crowd that was there before. I couldn't have been more wrong!

The bouncers failed to check for any identification upon entry, and let absolutely anyone in! This was an over 21's night. There was little protection for the younger crowd, as they let in some of the scruffiest men in large groups who were clearly looking for violence. It took over half an hour to get a drink, and had only one bar accessible to the public. There should have been a limit on the amount of people allowed entry, as the business led to people becoming irate and violent. There was not enough room to even go up the stairs to use the bathroom.

I saw the fight, and the bouncers were extremely heavy handed for the situation in hand. In fact, this gave off the completely wrong image that I believed the venue was trying to promote in the first place. It was not a nice place to be and I am disappointed that a "gang" of mid-twenty year olds were allowed in wearing what they were - round-neck t-shirts and trainers, when clearly the rest of the paying public had made a clear effort to look presentable.

I believe this venue is "hit or miss" but I want to make it clear that you will not be receiving my custom again. I would rather go somewhere else with a better atmosphere and stricter entry requirements.

We attended the Ivory Rooms yesterday for the wedding of Leah & Ryan and have to say that you made it a perfect day. Everything was done to perfection, the food was excellent (served hot too)and your staff were friendly and efficient. You even managed to change the weather! A wonderful day and we wish you continued success in providing such a good service to your guests.
