THE SMELL MADE US LEAVE - DISGUSTING
Terrible experience at the Chichester Hotel! after booking the bridal suite for what you would call a romantic seen after a great night out turned into a dated, musky smelt room that drove us out of the hotel.
the smell was so strong that no bride should have to experience on their wedding night as well as an odd couple like myself and missus!
Whilst i accepted the fact that it was an experience I would rather forget, the worse part has been the aftercare of it all. Customer service is non-existent and no one in the management team seem to know whats going on with anything in the hotel!
When i left the room close to 2am I spoke to the night porter who indeed, explained that he will explain to the management the next morning in order for me not to pay.
I then saw that the money had been debited from my account so I then contacted them for an explanation! I spoke to the ‘manager’ who was a male, explained he will look into this and call me within 24 hours... I am still waiting for that call.
2 weeks had past and I decide to call to find out what’s going. Receptionist explained I should speak to Sam Young. Sam, who sounded very polite said she will look into this and will call me later that day if not early the next morning... I am still waiting for that call.
It’s now been 2 weeks since I have spoken to Sam and I am no more wiser than what I was 1 month and a half ago when I discovered the money had been debited.
I have left message upon message for someone to call me, for someone to contact me and explain what the hell is going on but to know prevail... its an absolute disgrace that a complaint has been going on for this long with no real urgency from your team what so ever!
it’s a disgrace that they took my money in the first place let alone the fact that they have no customer service or complaint handling team!!! Non-existent!
I called yesterday to get in touch with someone, anyone who would help me... nothing!
So whilst I would say that the hotel is very dated with terrible rooms that are not worth the money, I would also explain that the people running the hotel do not deserve a penny of anyone's hard earned cash!
DO NOT GO
My husband booked a meal here for 20 people for my birthday as a surprise. It was awful, the food was cold and badly presented - looked cheap and nasty and the staff was absolutely terrible. When I complained at the end of the night the young girl who claimed to be the manager was really rude and could not care less. It was so bad that i actually called the next day to complain to the real manager and also I wrote a complaint letter to the owner but to be honest they didnt care. Considering we took a lot of people there and spent a lot of money I was totally gobsmacked at the way we were treated. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES VISIT HERE.
Avoid at all costs
Food was cold. Pate stuffed mushrooms were an abomination. Lamb shank could have been more tender. Vegetables unsalted and cooked to oblivion - i.e. soggy and mushy. Roast potatoes were uncrunchy, oily and burnt. Apple sponge pudding disgusting. For £20 a rip off. Say no more.
Must agree with other review, my experience was much the same. If you want to eat in a place where the staff seem put out even being there, this is the place for you. Presentation and standard of served food left a lot to be desired, food not presented as ordered(chef seems to decide what will be served). Polite complaint about the food seemed to bring out the surlyness in the staff. Couldnt even get drinks order correct. Will not be returning again, Saved some money and eat at a Harvester, yes it was that bad.
Very poor place
I agree with the previous review and I don't think that he got unlucky.
The only thing I would disagree with is the score. I don't think it deserves a three. Overall the place was poor.
I for one will never be going back there again.
