I am a 25 year old and have been eating in picollos now for nearly 10 years. Nicki the owner most definately does not have a dont care attitude, quite the opposite, he will sit with you and chat, he shares a beer with me quite often. Infact last week we went for my Dads 49th and Nicki gave us an expensive bottle of wine on the house. I always order the Lobster pasta special, it is delicious. The food is fantastic! The waiters & waitresses are friendly and always smile. Yes it is quite small and the decor is a little older but it is truly authentic and has bucket loads of character that the more minimilist restaraunts lack! i would 110% reccomend this place to any age group, if your just looking for a Pizza and beer or something more extravagant!

We first went to the Piccolo over 30 years ago, and Bruno is still serving up great dishes. It is an unpretentious and authentic Italian restaurant with no frills. Very like a good family restuarant you will find in Italy. It is next door to a few other 'Italian' restaurants but they aren't the real thing. We love the place and have never had the sort of experience described by the previous reviwer.

If you are considering visiting this restaurant - take my advice and DON'T BOTHER. Manager had a couldn't care less attitude and even though we waited an hour and a quarter for our meal to arrive no explanation or apology was offered. Choice on menu extremely limited and main courses are accompanied by "one vegetable and potato dish" (no choice) When we enquired which vegetable was being served we were told "whatever they've got in the kitchen". When veg did arrive one small dish for four !!

One "steak" main course arrived at the table stone cold and had to be taien away to be re-heated.

Other tables complaining about the lack of service.

Definitely, definitely would never go back there !!
