The Green Dragon is a traditional 18th century inn and restaurant located just outside Braintree.

The Green Dragon serves pub food alongside more adventurous dishes like seared tuna steak with salsa, baked queen scallops with pancetta, and roast monkfish with parma ham.

The Green Dragon offers a superb range of facilities, from cosy bar areas to delightful atmospheric restaurant areas. Outside there is a large garden where you can enjoy a drink or meal in the summer sun, whilst inside there is a choice of bar areas and two non-smoking restaurants.

We booked late but were able to sit in the Bar area for our meal, this was fine as we sat near an open fire which added to the Good English Pub effect. We were served quickly although they where very busy,time was spent to chat to us. Our meal was excellent , the feeling in the Pub was very comfortable and we will be making this our local which we will be happy to recommend to our friends .
