Baumann's Brasserie has an interesting history. It is located in a 16th century half-timbered building which was originally converted into a restaurant in 1986 by world-renowned Peter Langan, of Langan's Brasserie, together with his young French-trained head chef Mark Baumann.

Over the years, both the brasserie and Mark Baumann have earned numerous awards and commendations. The brasserie is featured in all the major food guides, Mark has been elected a Master Chef of Great Britain and was recently named in the International Who's Who of Chefs.
