The Bell is an award winning pub with a great reputation for food and dining that stretches back through the years.
Amongst their accolades are"Free House of the Year" 1996 & 1999,"Best Pub in Britain" 1993, Winner Egon Ronay "Pub Chef of the Year" 1993 and winner of "Thurrock in Bloom" Competition 1996.The Bell served, from its earliest days, as a coaching inn. Baggage would have been transferred to and from the coach roof from the balcony.
It was through this archway that stage coaches would come and go carrying farmers to and from the hay and corn markets at Aldgate as well as other travellers to and from the metropolis.
Food in the Bell is cooked to order which means when it's busy there may be some delay but you know what you are eating is fresh. Their menus change regularly so there's always something new to challenge your palate.
